Our medical training has been specifically designed for the African safari and conservation environment.
The RFR© course provides the responder with the knowledge and skills to provide immediate treatment of a traumatic, or medical casualty in remote and hostile environments. Over five days students will be taught the required skills to identify life-threatening injuries and perform lifesaving medical interventions. On completion of the course responders will have learnt how to confidently treat and stabilise patients while waiting for more advanced medical teams to respond or to provide extraction to further aid.
Our course addresses the specific risks and scenarios identified for the environment in which your staff members are expected to work. For example, training and assessment scenarios will be drawn from, but not limited to animal mauling, drowning incidents and medical emergencies involving elderly tourists. Our instructors can and do take advantage of a“closed” camp environment to spring surprise and unexpected medical and traumatic incidents on the students at various times, this can include late night or early morning incidents throughout our courses.
Training is best suited to those managing exclusive safari adventures and experiences, eco-tourism events and NGOs operating in remote locations throughout Africa.
Courses are delivered in English and/ or through an interpreter. Students will be issued with a basic pocket book written in English. This book can be translated to other languages if required.
No prior medical qualifications are required to attend the RFR© course.
