We received some news that students from a previous Remote First Responder (RFR) course we had delivered just the end of last month were involved in a protracted "contact", or poaching incident involving the use of firearms.
Very pleased to say that all Rangers returned to base without serious injury AND the animals were protected. Not that the Rangers The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy or the Gravitas Medical Solutions Limited training team needed anymore motivation to do our roles; but this incident further strengthens their resolve to deliver world class training.
On a lighter note, another cohort of Rangers have successfully completed their RFR course, with one student liking his instructor so much he decided to take him home!
